The Principalia who were acknowledged before the year 1863 were the Christianized descendants of the precolonial datus, rajas, wangs (hwan) and lakans of the various kingdoms throughout the Philippine archipelago.
The Principalia were officially recognized by the Spanish crown, first by Phillip II in Leyes de Indias Libro VI Titulo VII (1594) and secondly, by Charles II in 1697.
The established settlements all over the archipelago had a recognized Principalia. As each region, island and locality had their own unique cultural identity and history, these socio-political structures offer a glimpse to the diversity of the pre-colonial heritage of the Filipino people.
Principalia Sa Bulalacao seeks to promote the rich culture, heritage and traditions of the Filipino people and utilize their cultural and historical links for positivity, empowerment, progress and understanding.
By focusing on our locality, we contribute to the story of the Filipino experience.
